Senior High School

The Senior High School is Leo Baeck's flagship, serving as one of Israel's premier academic institutions. The school's 150 full and part-time teachers educate over 1,000 students from grades 10 through 12 (ages 14-18). At its core, the High School focuses on academic excellence, requires a personal contribution to the wellbeing of civil society through extensive community service, develops an appreciation for the arts and culture and instills a love of Israel.

Last year, 86 Leo Baeck students - 55% of Israel's total winners - were awarded the Duke of Edinburgh's International Gold Award for their far reaching public service, ranging from assisting Holocaust survivors and restoring a desecrated Jewish cemetery in Germany, to entertaining terminally ill children with the Medical Clowns project.

The High School is a way of life.  Beyond classroom excellence, where Leo Baeck is a top national achiever, students are empowered to set their own priorities and organize their own events, such as "Say No to Violence" - Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Day, "888 and Not a Day More"- Gilad Schalit in captivity, the Model United Nations, bringing the hallways to life with their visual arts, attending university-level courses in advanced mathematics and computers, fighting global warming with the Society for the Protection of Nature, gender equality seminars, foreign exchanges and much, much more.
